Dear Partner,
100 Days Away! That’s the amount of time that lies between now and the beginning of the 2022 summer season at HYC.
I mentioned last month that I would be sharing some of our major prayer requests as we ramp up plans for the summer season. As you’ll see below, the list focuses on needed structures and projects that must be completed by mid-June:
1. A 40x80 pavilion going up to serve this year as our Rec Hall area
2. 4 new windows going in the Girl’s Back Cabins
3. 8 new exterior doors beings installed
4. 2 new exterior doors for the Sweet Shop
5. Another large tent for Dining
6. New lighting and ceiling tiles in Sweet Shop
7. The rebuilding of the Miracle Building. As of March 11th, there has not been a settlement offer with Church Mutual.
The first six items listed here all need to take place in the next 100 days. While this isn't a huge undertaking in normal times, I think we all have seen setbacks due to Covid related supply chain issues. Added to that is the reality of our location in the middle of the Upper Peninsula. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated.
We also have our 2nd Billy Walker Gala planned for May 4th and would love to have you join us for this important celebration and fundraiser. It’s also important to praise the Lord for the blessings from the past few months:
Nearly 75% of our HYC Staff is signed up, on board, and ready to serve this summer! We have a super group of executive staff meeting for a week later this month to get ready for ministry at HYC this year.
Thanks to you, we have money on hand to pay for a majority of the items listed above.
We have an unbelievable list of speakers lined up for this summer with some new names that we're excited to have on board.
We've also started a ministry-focused podcast called “Generations.” You’ll find it on Apple Podcasts and Spotify with a new release on the first Wednesday of every month. I share the microphone with my brother, Billy, as we go back to stories from a life of family ministry and share how those lessons are relevant today.
In less than 100 days we’ll be welcoming kids to HYC and couldn’t be more excited to experience what God has in store. Your faithfulness in making this ministry happen both financially and with your prayers is coveted in these coming days.
