Dear pledge partner,
One New Years resolution I've kept that’s made a big impact on me is my “22 in ‘22.” I call it my 22 in 22 because it is the year 2022. Pretty creative huh?
Each weekend I come up with 22 things for which I am thankful.
I generally start off each day writing down a couple things I'm grateful for but putting down 22 blessings every weekend takes some strategic thinking.
When I run in to roadblocks, I make myself finish the following sentence, "imagine life without __________________." This may be hard to believe, but when reviewing my “22 from ‘22” list from the past few weekends I've found myself repeatedly saying "I forgot about that."
Less than a month has passed, and I have already forgotten most of the big blessings from the first week in January. I also found that far too many blessings for me revolve around food. I don't know if that's a sad statement about my life or a compliment to how good a cook my wife is?
Without fail, my list features items that have a direct connection to Hiawatha. I’ve been blessed and inspired by texts, emails and notes I've received and wanted to share a sampling with you since your kindness, generosity, and faithfulness have helped make it happen.
"Hiawatha has been my home away from home for a long time now and I appreciate the impact it's made on my life."
"I've never felt so loved by a group of people before...I'm so excited for this coming summer again at HYC."
"Thanks to HYC I've grown spiritually in ways I couldn't have any other place."
My list also frequently contains your name, or perhaps your entire family. Many I'm writing to have been helping with the ministry of Hiawatha for decades.
In March I'll share some specific requests I'd love for you to be in prayer for regarding the coming summer...but this month, I’d like to do something a little different.
I want to know how we – the Hiawatha leadership team - can pray for you. If you have a request you'd like us to be praying for fill out and return the enclosed form.
We'd like to be a blessing to you by lifting up your needs and requests throughout February. We’re grateful for you and all you do on behalf of the young people who meet and draw closer to Christ every summer at Hiawatha.
Sincerely,
Craig
